Ethiopia has strated the construction of the biggest hydro-
power on the Blue Nile River that will produce 6,000 MW.
 It will cost 3.3 billion Euros and will take seven years to complete.
 This dam will create a lake twice the size of lake Tana.
 It will be the 10th largest dam in the world.
 It is named The Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam .

Major traditional musical instruments are the ‘Masinko’-one
stringed, the ‘kerar’-6 stringed. the 10 stringed ‘Begena’-
(harp) used for playing ecclesiastical music and the
‘Washint’(flute). pipes and horns.
 St. yared is considered Ethiopia’s father of music he
lived in Axum in the 6th century AD . He is the author
of cantatas, traditional education and various pieces of
religious literature that has been used by the Ethiopian
Orthodox Church for the past 1.500 years.
